Bright Friday 2021
Forget Black Friday, its Bright Friday at Wilton London.
Black Friday is just around the corner and rather than slashing our prices, we’re bringing back Bright Friday. This year we’re lending a helping hand to The Felix Project, we’ll be donating a bottle of Wilton for every order made on our website, plus we’ll donate 20% of your total order to support The Felix Project in their fight to end hunger and food waste across the UK.
We’re not asking you to make fast decisions on your purchases, but if you’re thinking of stocking up, this is a great time to do it. If you decide to buy Wilton this week, your order will go just that little further, which is why this donation will apply to every order made from 22nd - 28th November 2021.
Why we love the Felix Project
1.5 million adults in London struggle to afford to eat every day, 400,000 children are at risk of missing their next meal. Meanwhile, our food industry generates 3 million tonnes of good, edible surplus food each year.
The Felix Project is a London-based food redistribution waste charity set up in 2016 to tackle both these issues.
At least 3 million tonnes of edible food waste is generated by the UK food industry each year. At the same time, food poverty is a huge and growing problem, and almost 4 million children in the UK live in households that struggle to afford to buy enough fruit, vegetables, fish and other healthy foods.
20% of all Wilton orders will be donated to help raise funds to deliver meals across London, plus we will donate a bottle of washing up liquid for every order made this Bright Friday. It’s our way of helping the staff and alleviate the cost of purchasing cleaning products.
Felix's Kitchen, launched in collaboration with the London Evening Standard, is a 4400 sq ft professional kitchen staffed by chefs and volunteers.
Felix's Kitchen turns surplus food into healthy pre-packaged ‘ready meals’. The volunteers then deliver these meals, along with more food staples, to charities across Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Newham for families and others in need.
