Wilton London is now a B Corp
Using business
as a Force for Good
When we started Wilton, we wanted to create a different kind of business. We wanted to be part of something that treats people, the environment and our communities in a way that we could be proud of – more than just as a marking angle, but at the heart of our business. This is why we are super happy to announce we are now a Certified B Corp – it’s a really big deal and we couldn’t be prouder.
Certified B Corporations are for-profit companies that use the power of business to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.
They meet the highest verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. . . that’s the official line. But to us it means Wilton is more than just a business, it’s a business that’s helping to protect our planet and the people that live here.
Becoming a Certified B Corp as a young business, is no mean feat. The process is rigorous and looks at every aspect of a business to make sure B Corps are considering people and the environment in just about every aspect of their operation.
As an independent business, it meant that during the certification process we were able to learn and change our business for the better, and for the future. We think we’re lucky that we went through this process so early on our journey. It means we will nurture and build Wilton in the earlier days as we mean to go on, and as we believe we should do.
It means we’re building our business from the ground up to be a strong B Corp.
So what does that actually mean:
For our Planet:
We’re custodians of our planet and we take that super seriously. As a Certified B Corp business, you can rest assured that when we say we’re taking steps to reduce our impact on the environment, that we actually are and B Lab verify that. We have scrutinised all aspects of our business to make sure we’re doing our best to have a minimal impact. We look at just about everything including the way we work at in our office, manufacturing, sourcing of ingredients and packaging to ensure that they are as good as they can be.
For our People
If it wasn’t for our people, there would be no Wilton. We work with lots of suppliers each with their own employees and their own suppliers. We make sure that we only work with suppliers that share our beliefs and treat all of their suppliers and employees fairly. Our policies and procedures ensure that they will always treat our supplier and employees with complete fairness, transparency, inclusivity and diversity at the forefront our intentions.
For our Community
We make all of our products in the UK, that’s because our social performance is really important to us, and we want to be a part of the community we do business in. At Wilton we engage with our community by working with charities and organisations in our community.
But we need your help too
Being a B Corp business means that we put people and planet, before profit. Not many businesses can say this. Other business will be able to benefit from using cheaper and more damaging components, not insisting on high standards in packaging recyclability, or ‘Green Washing’ their brand (this is when they try and appear more eco-friendly than they actually are with ‘green’ alternatives that are actually more damaging). We need you to help by demanding the highest standards from your cleaning products.
community is spelt wrong, nice work tho

Love this! so many companies say they are ethical and eco friendly but it’s so hard to know who is actually telling the truth. I’m going to look out for the bcorp logo now.
