4 Ways to Refresh Your Home

Is you home ready for a new year refresh? Whether its introducing a new fragrance or simply giving your wardrobe a good old clear out, we've put together some simple tips to give your space a little 2022 make over.

1. De-clutter

There's something about January that puts many of us in a 'out with the old in with the new' mindset. One of the best ways to transform a space is to simply de-clutter it, start by getting rid of any unwanted clothes or furniture you have almost definitely built up over the years. But don't chuck anything - you can re-gift, give away, re-sell and donate to charity to get the decluttering process off to a non wasteful start.

For clothes donations you could look at apps like Thirft+ who will doing the dirty work for you and photograph and sell your clothes in exchange for points to be spent on their website. For anything else, try Freecycle.

Once you've had the satisfaction of a clear out you can start to think about the big clean.

2. Clean, clean, clean

A deep clean can often feel overwhelming…but fear not! With the right products, cleaning your home is the best part. Introducing a calming smell of nature into the home, there are so many reasons why the Wilton Cleaning Range helps make cleaning that little bit less dull while caring for our environment.

Using the Eucalyptus or Grapefruit multi surface sprays and the Plastic Free Sponge, you can give your home a good clean whilst leaving it with a spa like scent. This is the perfect way to sanitise your home and leave it smelling great, all whilst being eco-conscious.

We highly recommend playing some music to get you going, we've even put together some playlists to get you inspired.

3. Experiment with a new scent

Scent is an expression, especially in our homes and we believe there is no better way to enhance your living space than with natural essential oils and scents so here is a couple of easy ways to introduce them.

When it comes to candles, you can never have too many, there's no right or wrong answer when it comes to the scent as a bit like choosing a perfume, a home fragrance is your personal choice. We do recommend looking for a candle with a long burn time and high intensity scent, a current favourite of ours is Earl of East

In the winter months, stove simmer pots are a quick and very cosy way to bring natural and seasonal scent into the house. Simmer a saucepan of water and add botanical ingredients to allow the scent to float gently through the home.

One of the easiest ways to create lovely smells is through your linen and we've got you covered, our laundry liquids and conditioners are infused with essential oils to give your linen a long-lasting botanical scent. You can choose from indulgent Cedarwood or foral Jasmine

4. It's all in the detail

You'd be surprised how really small changes can elevate a room, it could be as simple as swapping a white lampshade for a pop of colour or replacing your cupboard handles, using a few new accessories can seamlessly inject some personality into something that was once over looked.
