Creating an at home spa experience is easier than you might think. Forget facemasks and or soaking in a long bath, hanging a few sprigs of eucalyptus in your shower is a quick and low-cost way of adding a spot of serenity to your daily routine.

As you shower, the hot steam releases eucalyptus oils into the air around you. The essential oil is known to have a variety of health benefits, plus, it makes your bathroom extra Instagrammable (and who doesn’t want that?). Here’s how hanging eucalyptus in your shower can provide more benefits that meets the eye.

What’s that smell?

On face value, the eucalyptus doesn’t only look good, it smells good too. If you want to leave your bathroom with a fresh natural scent, this one's for you. Scent is a simple way to boost your mood and will save you some money from purchasing room sprays or scented candles. Trust us, we know our scents.

Let’s de-stress

Eucalyptus oil has been told to help with calming and de-stressing. Some sources say it activates the parasympathetic nervous system which leads to a feeling of being relaxed.

Naturally clean

Eucalyptus oil is known to be naturally effective against microbes, with both antibacterial and antiviral properties. We love it as an ingredient in our home care range, but it also has health benefits, like helping to clear your sinuses.

Wakey Wakey

If you’re not a morning person, eucalyptus might be the answer to help you feel awake. Clearing your sinuses and dilating your airways can improve oxygenated blood flow and make you feel more alert.

Where to find eucalyptus, and how to hang it

Eucalyptus is widely available from flower shops; it’s often used to add height and shape to floral arrangements. Just purchase a small bundle and tie the ends together just under the leaves. You can use rope or twine for this. Tie securely just below the shower head like below it shouldn’t be right under the water stream, the steam will do the work to release its oils. Replace around every 2 weeks (or once the smell goes away).
